If you are facing an unexpected pregnancy, you have three options: abortion, adoption, or parenthood. Abortion is not your only option if you don’t have money.
There are actually several paths forward, and cost doesn’t have to be the deciding factor.
At Calaveras Pregnancy Center, we offer no-cost pregnancy services, including pregnancy testing and referrals for free, on-site ultrasounds. We also offer material assistance for pregnancy and beyond.

Consider Adoption
Adoption is always free for you. Adoption also allows you a high degree of customization so that you can choose the level of involvement you would like in your child’s life, such as ongoing communication, pictures, etc.
You can also choose a closed adoption, which prevents any identifying information from being disclosed to the child or adoptive family.
Depending on your situation, you may also receive help with certain pregnancy-related expenses, such as medical bills, housing, and utilities. The adoption agency or the adoptive family of your choosing may cover these expenses.
Considering Parenting
If part of you is interested in keeping and raising the baby but is deterred by the cost, there are many resources available to help. Many women qualify for assistance that can cover prenatal care and provide ongoing support after birth.
For example, low-income families who qualify for Medi-Cal can receive financial assistance that covers benefits such as hospitalization, maternity and newborn care, pediatric services, and more.
For a two-person household, you may also qualify for up to $536 in monthly grocery assistance.
These are just two examples of the many resources that are available to families who need financial assistance.
